Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 10, 2026
Welcome to AliveYet! We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how AliveYet ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
• Minimal Collection: We only collect the minimum amount of data necessary to provide our service
• User Consent: We do not collect any data without your explicit permission and active provision
• Transparency: We clearly explain what data we collect and how we use it
• Data Security: We use encryption and security measures to protect your data
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data Stored on Servers (Required for Core Services)
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, a password (hashed, for email/password accounts), and an optional nickname. If you sign in with Apple, we collect your Apple ID (a unique identifier provided by Apple) and may collect your email address and name if provided by Apple during the sign-in process. This information is stored on our servers for account authentication and management.
- Check-in Records: Whether you are a VIP user or not, your daily check-in timestamps are synced to our servers. This is required for core service functionality because:
1) The server needs to determine when to send notification emails to your emergency contacts based on your last check-in time;
2) It enables cross-device check-in history queries. Check-in data includes check-in time and IP address (for security purposes). We do not collect any location information. - Emergency Contact Information: To send notifications when you miss a check-in, the names, email addresses, and phone numbers of emergency contacts you add are synced to our servers. This is required for core service functionality because the server needs to know who to send notification emails to. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary consent from your contacts to provide us with their information.
- VIP Subscription Status: If you subscribe to VIP services, we record your subscription status and expiration date to manage subscription features.
- App Settings: Your app preferences (such as check-in timeout, notification frequency, etc.) are synced to our servers to maintain consistency across devices.
1.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device (Cache, Offline Support, and Guest Mode)
- Local Cache: To improve app performance and provide offline access, some data (such as check-in records, contact information, etc.) may be cached on your device. For signed-in users, this cached data is synchronized with the server to ensure data consistency.
- Guest Mode Data: If you use the app as a guest (without signing in), your check-in records and emergency contact information will only be stored locally on your device and will not be uploaded to the server. This means: 1) Data will not sync across devices; 2) Emergency contacts cannot receive email notifications. When you sign in to an account, local data can be synced to the server.
- Temporary Data: The app may store temporary data locally during operation, which is not uploaded to the server.
1.3 Automatically Collected Information (Minimal)
- Basic Usage Data: To ensure service stability and troubleshoot issues, we may collect minimal technical information such as app version, device type, and operating system version. This information does not include personally identifiable information.
- Location Information: We do not collect any location data whatsoever. The app does not request location permissions and does not collect, store, or transmit any geographic location information.
- Other Data: We do not collect your browsing history, search records, contacts, photos, or other personal files.
2. How We Use Your Information
We only use the collected information for the following explicit purposes and will not use it for other purposes:
- Provide Core Services: Use your account information for authentication and manage your account settings.
- Send Emergency Notifications: Only when you miss a check-in and an alert is triggered, we use the emergency contact information you provided to send notification emails. This is our core functionality and requires your explicit consent.
- Manage Subscription Services: If you subscribe to VIP services, we use subscription information to provide corresponding feature access.
- Customer Support: If you contact us, we will use the contact information you provide to respond to your inquiries.
- Service Improvement: We may use anonymous, aggregated technical data to improve app stability and performance. This data does not include personally identifiable information.
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Use your data for advertising or marketing purposes
• Sell your data to third parties
• Use your data for user profiling or behavioral analysis
• Access cached data on your device without your permission
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Your Emergency Contacts: Only when a check-in alert is triggered, we will share your status and potentially your last known check-in time with your designated emergency contacts via email.
- With Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party vendors, consultants, and other service providers who perform services on our behalf (e.g., email sending services, database hosting). These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency).
- To Protect Our Rights: We may disclose information to protect the rights, property, or safety of AliveYet, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company.
4. International Data Transfers
Your information, including personal data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those from your jurisdiction. If you are located outside the United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to the United States and process it there. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include data encryption, firewalls, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our active databases within a reasonable timeframe, though some data may persist in backup copies for a limited period.
7. Your Data Protection Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
- Right to Rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or complete information you believe is incomplete.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
- Right to Object to Processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
- Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
- Right to Opt-out of Sale (CCPA): We do not sell your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at aliveyet@outlook.com.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from a child without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
